Lucknow, Oct 18: A childhood lesson from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath transformed the way Arundhati from Kerala viewed life, leading her to write a two-page handwritten letter inviting him to her upcoming wedding in December.
Once believing that tears were a sign of weakness, Arundhati learnt from a video of Yogi Adityanath during her youth that being emotional is not a weakness, but rather the courage to accept one’s feelings. Even years later, this lesson continues to shape her life as she prepares to enter a new chapter through marriage with Rahul on December 20, 2026, at the Green Park Convention Centre in Aluva, Kerala.
In her letter, Arundhati shared her state of mind during childhood, when she would become emotional and cry over small things, regarding it as a personal flaw. Friends had advised her that controlling emotions was necessary to become strong, leading her to question whether expressing feelings was something to be embarrassed about. Around that time, her cousin showed her a video of Yogi Adityanath appearing deeply emotional, explaining that she should aspire to be like him—someone who could be deeply emotional and yet immensely strong.
The video gave Arundhati a fresh perspective, helping her understand that tears are not proof of weakness and resolving her inner conflict. She began to view her emotional sensitivity as a natural expression of human compassion rather than a shortcoming. Realising that true strength means retaining faith in oneself while confronting difficulties, she drew inspiration from his public journey of hard work, determination, and sustained effort.
Arundhati, who regards the Chief Minister as an elder brother whose journey has given her courage, maintained in her letter that whenever she doubts herself, his example inspires her to move forward. Acknowledging his busy schedule, she affirmed that if he is unable to attend the ceremony in person, even a message conveying his best wishes and blessings would be invaluable to her and the newlyweds.
