Chandigarh, Oct 22: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab President and Cabinet Minister Aman Arora launched a scathing attack on the Congress on Thursday, asserting that the party would dismantle key public welfare programs—including free electricity, the ₹10 lakh Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna health cover, and financial assistance for women—should it assume power in 2027. Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh, Arora claimed recent remarks by Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring regarding the criteria for state subsidies revealed the party’s underlying “anti-people and feudal mindset.”
Arora challenged top Congress figures, including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Pratap Singh Bajwa, to explicitly clarify whether their party intends to preserve or eliminate state-funded benefits. Criticizing Congress leaders for taking advantage of state subsidies while advocating for their restriction among the general public, Arora warned that a Congress administration would reinstate toll plazas and increase tariffs on electricity and irrigation, reverting the state to an era of public exploitation.
