Chandigarh, Oct 26: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday declared that opposition parties are targeting him out of fear over the widespread public backing for the Aam Aadmi Party across the state. Addressing reporters in Patiala, Mann stated that visiting leaders consistently focus their criticisms on him because the opposition recognizes AAP’s strong political foothold.
Referring to senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s upcoming rally on November 4 in Sangrur, the Chief Minister affirmed that political figures will naturally visit the district as it serves as the core stronghold of the Aam Aadmi Party. He maintained that opposition parties, including the Congress, the BJP, and the Akali Dal, avoid criticizing one another and instead direct all their attacks at his leadership.
Addressing the recent murder of anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota, Chief Minister Mann asserted that the state government has accepted all valid demands presented by the family. He declared that decisions regarding the final rites now rest entirely with the family members and the action committee.
