Chandigarh, November 4, 2024: An Indian Air Force MiG-29 aircraft crashed in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, today during a training flight due to a technical fault, according to reports.
Fortunately, both the pilot and co-pilot managed to eject in time, landing safely approximately two kilometers from the crash site.
The aircraft, which had taken off from Adampur Air Base in Punjab, went down in an open field near Soniga village in the Kagaroul area, avoiding any populated areas and preventing potential large-scale damage.
Villagers nearby rushed to the site, finding aircraft parts and the pilot’s parachute scattered across a one-kilometer radius.
Police and Air Force officials have since arrived to secure the scene.
A detailed investigation into the technical issues leading to the crash has been announced by the Air Force, with officials yet to release a formal statement on the cause.
