BJP Pledges Transparency in Delhi Ad Spending

New Delhi, 22 February — Delhi BJP Chief Virendra Sachdeva assured that no public funds would be spent on glorifying the government, the Chief Minister, or the party, promising a fully transparent advertisement policy focused on public interest.

Speaking at a press conference, Sachdeva contrasted the BJP’s approach with that of the previous AAP government, which, he claimed, misused taxpayer money for self-promotion.

“The BJP is known for good governance, and Delhi got a glimpse of it on Thursday,” he said.

He criticized the AAP government’s spending on advertisements during its tenure, alleging that in 2020, former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal used ₹4.5 crore per day to promote his third government.

“In contrast, the BJP spent zero public funds on Thursday’s oath-taking ceremony. Every hoarding, advertisement, and invitation for the ‘Developed Delhi’ event was funded entirely by the party,” Sachdeva said.

He also alleged that the agency handling advertisements under Kejriwal’s administration lacked transparency and was involved in misusing public resources.

“The BJP government’s advertisement policy will be fully transparent, ensuring every ad serves only the public interest,” Sachdeva added.
