New Delhi, 28 February — The Centre has appointed Finance Secretary Tuhin Kanta Pandey as the new Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), replacing Madhabi Puri Buch, whose term ends this month.
According to a government order issued on Thursday, Pandey will lead the market regulator for an initial tenure of three years.
The appointment follows a selection process, with the government having invited applications for the post until February 17.
Pandey, known for his role in key financial reforms, takes over at a time when SEBI is navigating evolving market regulations and investor protection measures.
