Chandigarh, April 24: The Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab leveled serious accusations against the Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday, alleging a coordinated attempt to dismantle the state’s ruling party. Senior AAP leaders stated that the BJP is utilizing central enforcement agencies to create an atmosphere of fear among lawmakers, specifically targeting Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha to act as a catalyst for a split.

AAP chief spokesperson Baltej Pannu affirmed that Chadha was allegedly promised a ministerial position in the central government in exchange for facilitating the defection of seven AAP members of Parliament to the BJP. Pannu maintained that the Union Home Ministry is directly involved in this purported conspiracy to weaken the party’s standing in Punjab.

This is an attempt to break the party by creating an atmosphere of fear among the AAP MPs through the ED, Pannu declared. He asserted that Chadha was used as a weapon in a broader strategy to create a rift within the organization’s leadership.

Echoing these claims, Sangrur MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer stated that the alleged deal represents a betrayal of the party’s mandate in Punjab. Hayer maintained that Chadha made a deal with the Home Minister to secure a high-ranking post at the Centre. He affirmed that the objective of the arrangement was to lure elected representatives away from the Aam Aadmi Party, declaring that such actions constitute a backstab to both the party and the people of the state.
