New Delhi/Chandigarh, March 21 — In a major organizational shake-up, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) appointed senior leader Manish Sisodia as the party’s incharge for Punjab, while Satyendra Jain was named co-incharge.

The decisions were made during a meeting of AAP’s Political Affairs Committee at the residence of party convener Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi.

Former Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, who recently lost the Assembly election from Greater Kailash, was named the party’s new convener for Delhi, replacing Gopal Rai. Rai was assigned the role of incharge for Gujarat.

For Goa and Jammu and Kashmir, AAP appointed Pankaj Gupta and Mehraj Malik, respectively, to oversee the party’s operations.

Announcing the new appointments, AAP MP Sandeep Pathak said the meeting also discussed the BJP’s unfulfilled poll promises in Delhi.

“The way the Prime Minister had claimed that ₹2,500 would be deposited in every woman’s account after the first cabinet meeting… This is unfortunate for the country’s politics. We will keep working for the people,” Pathak said.
