NEW DELHI / PUNJAB: Following a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raid at the camp office of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann in Chandigarh, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launched a fierce political counteroffensive against the Centre, accusing the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of abusing federal investigative agencies out of election panic.

Top leadership from the party asserted that having failed to establish a viable political foothold in the state, the BJP is attempting to contest the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections through the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the CBI.

AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal strongly condemned the action, stating that the BJP has consistently displayed ‘Dhakkashahi’ (high-handedness) toward the people of Punjab—pointing to previous confrontations over the farmers’ agitation, state water rights, and Panjab University governance.

Kejriwal declared that the electorate in Punjab has already resolved to deliver a decisive verdict by securing more than 100 seats for Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in the upcoming polls.

Echoing these sentiments, senior leaders Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, Saurabh Bharadwaj, and Anurag Dhanda accused the BJP of replicating its political playbook in Delhi by deploying central enforcement bodies to undermine a popular state government renowned for its welfare initiatives in power, healthcare, and education.
