Chandigarh, March 25: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab State President Aman Arora on Wednesday declared that the state government has established a new benchmark for political accountability by acting decisively against its own members. Speaking in Chandigarh, Arora stated that the immediate removal and subsequent arrest of Laljit Bhullar demonstrates a zero-tolerance policy toward wrongdoing, contrasting the move with the practices of previous administrations.

The state president affirmed that the AAP government possesses the courage to investigate allegations internally rather than offering immediate protection to those in power. Arora maintained that during former Congress and Akali Dal regimes, leaders frequently received “clean chits” within minutes of allegations surfacing, often without a formal inquiry. He asserted that the current administration’s intent is to prioritize the truth over political protectionism.

“The clarity of the Punjab Government’s intent is evident for all to see,” Arora stated during a media interaction. He further declared that while Punjab has taken swift action, the BJP-led Haryana government continues to shield individuals accused in the tragic suicide of an ADGP. The AAP leader maintained that this distinction highlights a fundamental difference in governance styles between the two neighboring states.

Arora declared that the party stands for transparency and will not follow the “old culture” of shielding influential figures. He affirmed that the administration remains committed to ensuring that accountability remains the cornerstone of its operations in Punjab.
