CHENNAI/NEW DELHI, Feb 28 – The “Udaan Yatri Cafe,” an initiative offering affordable food and beverages at airports, has expanded to Chennai after its launch in Kolkata. The move follows Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha’s push for reasonably priced options for travelers.

Chadha, who raised the issue of high airport food prices in Parliament last winter, welcomed the expansion. “A small spark can light up the darkest skies,” he wrote on X, celebrating the initiative’s growing reach.

In his parliamentary speech, Chadha had questioned the excessive pricing at airports, stating, “A water bottle costs ₹100, and tea is priced at ₹200-₹250. Can’t the government establish affordable canteens at airports?”

His demand gained widespread support, leading to the establishment of “Udaan Yatri Cafe” to provide budget-friendly meals.

Sharing his reaction on social media, he noted, “Glad to see affordable food canteens being set up at airports. This is a win for every traveler who has long struggled with overpriced meals.”

With more airports expected to follow, Chadha reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for pro-people policies that promote fairness and accessibility in public spaces.
