Akal Takht Summons Valtoha Over Allegations, Seeks Evidence

Amritsar/Chandigarh, 13 October 2024: Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh has summoned Shiromani Akali Dal leader Virsa Singh Valtoha to appear at Sri Akal Takht Sahib on October 15 at 9 AM. This order follows Valtoha’s public accusations against the BJP and RSS regarding the Jathedar Sahibs.

According to reports, he is required to bring evidence supporting his claims, particularly those alleging pressure on the Jathedar Sahibs to make decisions against Sukhbir Singh Badal.

In a written statement, Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh emphasized that failure to appear on the specified date would suggest that Valtoha is attempting to impersonate the Jathedar Sahibs to exert undue influence on them.

Earlier, Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) spokesman and former MLA Virsa Singh Valtoha expressed doubts about whether the Jathedars of Sri Akal Takht Sahib have been influenced by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the BJP.

He attributed this external influence to “the delay in punishing” Sukhbir Singh Badal after the Jathedars declared him guilty of religious misconduct.

Badal, president of the SAD(B), was declared “tankhayia” on August 30.

However, Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh has yet to pronounce his religious sentence.

In a Facebook post, Valtoha wrote, “I never thought that the conspiracies and plans of anti-Sikh forces, always aiming to weaken the Shiromani Akali Dal, would reach the extent of affecting our respected institutions that lead the Sikh community. Concerns about this have become a topic of discussion and worry for people like me and many others. May Waheguru prove my doubts wrong, as these institutions are a symbol of the pride and honor of Sikhs.”
