Hyderabad, 24 December 2024: Telugu actor Allu Arjun appeared before the Chikkadpally police on Tuesday for questioning in connection with a tragic stampede that occurred during a screening of Pushpa 2 at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on December 4. The incident led to the death of a 35-year-old woman and left her eight-year-old son hospitalized.

Allu Arjun, who had earlier expressed his intention to fully cooperate with the investigation, was issued a notice by the police to appear at 11 a.m.

To ensure the actor’s appearance was orderly, additional security was deployed at both his residence and the Chikkadpally police station.

The police also imposed traffic restrictions in areas leading to the police station as Allu Arjun made his way there, greeting fans before entering the station.

A day prior to the questioning, police commissioner C.V. Anand released a video detailing the events that unfolded at the theatre on the day of the stampede.

The incident occurred when a large crowd gathered to watch Pushpa 2, causing the fatal chaos that claimed the woman’s life. Her son, who was also injured in the stampede, was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Following the stampede, the police registered a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management based on a complaint filed by the family of the deceased woman.

The case includes various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and Allu Arjun has been named as accused No. 11.

The actor was initially arrested by police on December 13. However, the Telangana High Court granted him four-week interim bail the same day, allowing him to be released the following morning.

Despite his release, the investigation into the tragic stampede continues as police work to gather more details about the circumstances leading to the fatal event.
