Ambala, Feb 6: Security forces conducted a thorough search of the Ambala district court complex on Friday morning after an email threat claimed a bomb had been planted on the site. The operation involved multiple specialized units, which eventually declared the area safe after no explosive devices were found.
The threat led to the immediate deployment of the bomb disposal squad and sniffer dogs, who combed through the courtrooms and administrative blocks. Police officials implemented strict checking measures at all entry points to monitor movement within the facility.
“After the bomb threat email, sniffer dogs, bomb disposal squads, and other specialised units were immediately deployed in the court premises,” said SHO Suresh Kumar of the Ambala City Police station. He noted that the search concluded with nothing suspicious being recovered from the site.
The region has seen a spike in such electronic threats recently. Just last Monday, three schools in the city were searched following similar email communications, and last month, the Deputy Commissioner’s office was also targeted. In all instances, the threats were found to be non-credible.
During the Friday search, officials ensured that every visitor underwent a check with metal detectors. “During the search nothing suspicious was recovered,” Kumar mentioned, reiterating that the police are working to trace the origin of these recurring emails.
