New Delhi, Feb 5: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is chairing a security review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir at his residence on Wednesday, sources said.
The meeting follows the killing of a former army soldier by militants, with reports indicating that over 500 people have been detained for questioning across the Kashmir Valley.
Top security officials are expected to brief the Home Minister on ongoing counterterrorism efforts and other key security concerns in the region.
Notably, Shah had to cut short a similar meeting on Tuesday to attend the Prime Minister’s reply in Parliament. Sources said Tuesday’s discussions remained inconclusive.
