JAMMU, Dec 12 — Border Security Force personnel apprehended an armed intruder near the International Border in Jammu district’s Pargwal area on Friday, officials said.
The individual, identified as Abdul Khalik, was intercepted during routine surveillance. A senior police officer said the man was carrying a weapon when BSF troops stopped him.
“He was immediately detained and disarmed by BSF personnel,” the officer said. “The situation was brought under control without any escalation.”
Khalik was later handed over to Police Post Pargwal, under Police Station Khour, for formal legal proceedings, officials added.
Security forces continue to investigate the circumstances of the intrusion.
