JALANDHAR, April 17: Punjab Police on Thursday said an Army jawan has been arrested in connection with the grenade attack at YouTuber Rozer Sandhu’s Jalandhar residence last month.
Identified as Sukhcharan Singh, the jawan was posted in Jammu and Kashmir and is accused of providing online training to one of the men involved in hurling the explosive.
The grenade was thrown at Sandhu’s home during the night of March 15 and 16 but failed to detonate.
“Army authorities have been informed about the involvement of the jawan,” a police official said. Singh was produced in a Jalandhar court and remanded to five-day police custody.
The case has drawn national attention following a claim by Pakistani gangster Shahzad Bhatti, who said the attack was a response to the YouTuber’s alleged derogatory remarks against Muslims.
Police said a total of seven individuals have been arrested in the case so far.
