BATHINDA, November 9, 2024 — An army soldier lost his life in a tragic road accident in Bathinda on Saturday.
Identified as Jaswinder Singh, serving in the Assam Rifles Battalion near the Burma border, had come home to his village Rampura for Diwali leave, according to reports.
According to local sources, Singh, who had joined the army 19 years ago, was preparing to return to duty. While riding a motorcycle with his cousin from Mandi to Alike, the bike lost balance, leading to a crash. The accident resulted in the soldier’s death on the spot.
During his final journey, Sepoy Jaswinder Singh was given military honors.
His coffin, draped in the tricolor, was saluted by army personnel with shots fired in the air, paying a respectful farewell to the fallen soldier.
