Chandigarh, 25 February — Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa extended conditional support to the Punjab government’s resolution against the BJP-led Centre’s draft National Policy Framework on Agricultural Marketing during the special Assembly session on Tuesday.

Bajwa called the proposed policy “fatal” for Punjab’s farming sector, stating that the Congress is willing to stand with the AAP government to defend farmers’ interests.

He accused the BJP of weakening Punjab economically and politically, alleging that the party prioritizes multinational corporations over farmers.

He also criticized the AAP government for failing to secure ₹8,000 crore in Rural Development Fund (RDF) from the Centre.

Bajwa said Congress would even join protests at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence if Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann leads efforts to recover the dues.
