New Delhi, 4 January 2025: The BJP on Saturday revealed its first list of 29 candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, positioning former MP Parvesh Verma to challenge AAP chief and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi constituency.

Former MP Ramesh Bidhuri has been fielded from Kalkaji, where Chief Minister and AAP candidate Atishi is contesting. The list also includes BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa for Rajouri Garden and the party’s national general secretary, Dushyant Gautam, for Karol Bagh (SC).

Prominent figures such as former Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay will contest from Malviya Nagar, while Ashish Sood has been nominated for the Janakpuri seat. The BJP has also chosen Arvinder Singh Lovely to represent the Gandhi Nagar constituency.

Several candidates who recently joined the BJP have also secured key tickets. Kailash Gahlot is fielded from Bijwasan, Raaj Kumar Anand from Patel Nagar (SC), and Rajkumar Chauhan from Mangolpuri (SC).

The BJP’s candidate list reflects a mix of experienced leaders and newcomers as the party aims to challenge the ruling Aam Aadmi Party in the 70-member Delhi Assembly.
