Gurugram, 2 January 2025: Blinkit has rolled out a new pilot project offering 10-minute ambulance services in Gurugram, aiming to address urgent healthcare needs. The quick commerce platform’s move comes as part of its commitment to provide faster and reliable medical assistance.
CEO Albinder Dhindsa shared the company’s goal of making emergency healthcare more accessible through the Blinkit app. “We are taking our first step towards solving the problem of providing quick and reliable ambulance services in our cities,” Dhindsa said. He confirmed that the first five ambulances would begin operation in Gurugram today.
Through the app, users can book Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances, which are equipped with essential life-saving tools like oxygen cylinders, AED machines, stretchers, monitors, suction devices, and emergency medicines. Each ambulance is staffed with a paramedic, an assistant, and a trained driver to ensure quick medical response.
“Our goal is not profit but to operate this service at an affordable cost for the community. We intend to invest in making this a long-term solution,” Dhindsa explained. He also noted that the service will be scaled carefully and is targeted for expansion to major cities within the next two years.
