Amritsar, November 14: A team from the Border Security Force (BSF) in Amritsar recovered heroin worth ₹8 crore near the border village of Pandori, officials said on Thursday.

According to reports, a drone dropped a package weighing about 2 kilograms in the village. The BSF, acting on intelligence, launched a search operation and successfully seized the contraband.

Sources noted that drones have never previously been used to deliver heroin in Pandori, marking the first such incident in the area. “This seizure is significant as it highlights evolving smuggling methods along the border,” an official said.

The recovery underscores the BSF’s increasing focus on monitoring drone activity and intercepting cross-border narcotics trafficking in the region.
