Dubai, 12 February 2025: Jasprit Bumrah will miss the ICC Champions Trophy due to a lower back injury, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed on late night Tuesday.
The senior men’s selection committee has named fast bowler Harshit Rana as his replacement for the tournament, which begins on February 19 in Pakistan.
The squad has also undergone another change, with Varun Chakaravarthy replacing Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was initially included in the provisional squad. The ‘mystery’ spinner’s selection strengthens India’s spin attack for the event.
India will play all its matches in Dubai under the hybrid model agreement.
