Toronto, November 10, 2024: Arshdeep Singh, also known as Arsh Dalla, one of India’s most wanted gangsters, has been detained by Canadian police following a shootout in Milton late last month, as per sources within Indian security agencies.
Dalla, reportedly involved in an armed encounter on October 27 or 28, was taken into custody by the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS). Indian intelligence agencies, who have been closely following his activities, confirmed that Dalla has been residing in Canada with his wife. “He has been wanted for multiple criminal offenses in India, and his detention in Canada is a key development,” an Indian security official noted.
Dalla, identified as the acting chief of the Khalistani Tiger Force, assumed a leading role following the death of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. He is believed to have continued Nijjar’s activities, maintaining links with extremist networks overseas.
This detention comes shortly after Punjab Police apprehended two of Dalla’s operatives in Mohali, linked to a recent murder case.
Indian authorities are currently coordinating with Canadian officials to gather more information regarding Dalla’s involvement in the shootout and his subsequent detention.
