New Delhi, April 30 — In the wake of allegations of a security lapse linked to the recent Pahalgam attack, the Government of India has reconstituted the National Security Advisor Board (NSAB), naming former R&AW chief Alok Joshi as its new chairman.
The restructured board brings together a distinguished group of former defence, intelligence, and diplomatic figures. Among the new appointees are ex-Western Air Commander Air Marshal P.M. Sinha, former Southern Army Commander Lt Gen A.K. Singh, Rear Admiral Monty Khanna, and retired senior officials B. Venkatesh Varma, Rajiv Ranjan Verma, and Manmohan Singh.
The timing of the announcement aligns with ongoing high-level security reviews at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence, fuelling speculation about the nature and extent of the alleged breach.
