Lucknow, October 22: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced significant increases in operational allowances for state police personnel during the Police Commemoration Day parade on Wednesday, highlighting ongoing administrative reforms to support field duty officers across Uttar Pradesh.
The financial policy updates include elevating the monthly motorcycle allowance for field inspectors and sub-inspectors from ₹700 to ₹1,000, while expanding uniform allowances for PPS cadre officers to ₹15,000.
Additionally, SIM card allowances for field-deployed constables were increased to ₹2,500. Administrative leaders affirmed that these measures aim to enhance operational efficiency and boost morale across various ranks within the force.
During the memorial ceremony, the Chief Minister paid floral tributes to police martyrs, maintaining that the state remains deeply indebted to the 154 personnel nationwide—including six from Uttar Pradesh—who lost their lives in the line of duty over the past year.
Official statistics revealed that state financial assistance to the dependents of fallen officers has exceeded ₹425 crore, reflecting structured welfare efforts for bereaved families.
Reflecting on long-term administrative shifts, state representatives asserted that significant modernization, expanded recruitment drives, and updated legal frameworks like the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita have replaced outdated colonial practices.
Authorities declared that these systemic improvements, alongside the recovery of massive illegal assets from criminal networks, have successfully established lasting public safety and institutional accountability throughout the region.
