CHANDIGARH, SEPT 26 — Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann called a meeting of the seven-member coordination committee constituted for the ‘Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act, 2026’, scheduled for September 27 at his official residence in Sector 2.
An official statement confirmed that the meeting will commence at 1:00 PM to review statutory provisions and evaluate operational details aimed at ensuring complete reverence and sanctity for Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Formed in alignment with directives from Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the high-level panel comprises Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh, Sant Giani Harnaam Singh Khalsa, Sant Baba Sewa Singh, former Justice Jaswinder Singh, former Justice Gurbir Singh, former IPS officer Jatinder Singh Aulakh, and Advocate S. Preet Inder Paul Singh.
Government representatives affirmed that all members will attend the session to formulate structured recommendations regarding enforcement protocols and administrative coordination.
State officials maintained that the panel’s ongoing deliberations serve to reinforce legal safeguards, establishing robust administrative procedures to protect religious sentiments across the state.
