Lucknow: A major expansion of urban housing and modern infrastructure, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed the bhoomi pujan for the Lucknow Development Authority’s twin residential developments, Varun Vihar and Naimish Nagar, in Dona village near the Agra Expressway. The expansive projects, spanning 10,680 acres with an estimated investment of twelve thousand crore rupees, are planned to provide housing for nearly ten lakh citizens in the state capital.
During the event, the Chief Minister inaugurated registration for 4,520 residential plots and laid the foundation stone for five multi-story housing ventures valued at two thousand one hundred sixty-six crore rupees, including Lake View, Park View, Aishbagh Square, Aditi Apartment, and Vageshwari Apartment. Highlighting the ongoing transformation of the capital city, the state leader maintained that Lucknow has evolved from past lawlessness into an industrial and defense manufacturing center, now producing advanced defense hardware like BrahMos missiles alongside major investments from automotive firms like Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland.
Addressing the urban framework, the Chief Minister declared that Varun Vihar will span over 6,500 acres to accommodate six lakh residents, while Naimish Nagar, positioned near the Lucknow-Sitapur border, will cover 4,100 acres for four lakh inhabitants to preserve the region’s spiritual heritage while expanding housing. He affirmed that direct compensation mechanisms have been established to transfer funds directly into farmers’ bank accounts without intermediaries, enabling affected families to reinvest in land, agriculture, and education. Furthermore, the townships will be integrated with major transport corridors, including four-lane connectivity to Sitapur, access to the Purvanchal Expressway, the Kisan Path, and the ongoing State Capital Region development plan.
