Bengaluru, June 5: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar and the team’s star player Virat Kohli dedicated the IPL title win to the fans. RCB’s victory was celebrated at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday in which thousands of fans participated. IPL 2025 winning team RCB was given a grand welcome on its arrival in Bangalore. During this, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah felicitated the players at Vidhansoudha.
RCB defeated Punjab Kings by six runs in the final. This is its first IPL trophy. After the felicitation ceremony at Vidhansoudha, the players reached the Chinnaswamy Stadium where RCB’s victory was celebrated amid a huge crowd of spectators. RCB captain Rajat Patidar reached the stage in the middle of the stadium with the trophy. During this, Virat Kohli and Patidar addressed the audience and thanked them for constantly supporting the team.
Addressing the audience, Kohli said, ‘I would like to reiterate what our captain Rajat Patidar said at the awards ceremony on Tuesday night. Now it is not ‘E Sala Cup Namde’, but it has become ‘E Sala Cup Namdu’. To the RCB supporters who cheered the team on for 17 years without a trophy, Kohli dedicated this championship victory.
Kohli said – I have not seen such a fan base in the world
Kohli said, ‘This is for all of you, for you fans. The people of this wonderful city, the people who have supported RCB in every difficult time. I have not seen the fan base of any team in the world like this franchise. I want all of you to cheer loudly for Captain Patidar.’ Kohli then called Patidar to address the stage.
Patidar said, whenever I come here, I always like to start with Namaskar Bangalore. It was a great moment for us. From the beginning of the season, everyone was clear about what we have to do. You all deserve the trophy. We all love you.
Fans were immersed in celebrations throughout the day in Bangalore
Fans in Bangalore were dancing with joy since morning on RCB’s title win. From the airport to the Chinnaswamy Stadium, the entire city of Bangalore celebrated. The RCB team went directly from the airport to the hotel, where the fans welcomed the team. The RCB team reached Vidhan Soudha from the hotel where Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot honored the players. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah honored the players by garlanding them. However, it also rained during this time.
