SHIMLA, July 12 —To digitise revenue services, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday launched the ‘My Deed’ pilot project in 10 tehsils across the state, enabling citizens to complete land registration with just a single visit to the revenue office.
“This initiative marks a step towards making the system presence-less, paperless, and cashless, saving time and effort for the public,” said Sukhu, announcing the launch. The project is live in Bilaspur Sadar, Dalhousie (Chamba), Galore (Hamirpur), Jaisinghpur (Kangra), Bhuntar (Kullu), Padhar (Mandi), Kumarsain (Shimla), Rajgarh (Sirmaur), Kandaghat (Solan), and Bangana (Una).
The CM emphasised that technology must be harnessed to improve efficiency, transparency, and accessibility in revenue services. “People will now be able to apply for land registration from anywhere, anytime,” he added.
Alongside ‘My Deed’, Sukhu also introduced a simplified ‘Jamabandi’ format, along with e-Roznamcha Vakyati and Kaarguzari modules. The new Jamabandi format, stripped of archaic Urdu, Arabic and Farsi, will use basic Hindi, making it easier for common citizens to understand land records.
The e-Roznamcha Vakyati will allow patwaris to digitally log daily events, while Kaarguzari will enable online attendance marking for revenue officials.
Instructing the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and the Department of Digital Technologies and Governance to expedite digital modules, Sukhu laid down clear deadlines:
- Online mutation module within 15 days, linked directly to Jamabandi records
- Digitally-signed Jamabandi system in 10 days to eliminate the need to visit Patwarkhanas for land record copies
- Paperless, online revenue court management system within 15 days
“These reforms will not only reduce corruption but also eliminate bureaucratic delays, empowering citizens to access critical services without hardship,” Sukhu said, urging officials to ensure timely implementation.
The move is seen as part of the state’s broader push to modernise governance and bring people-centric digital transformation across departments.
