LUCKNOW — Returning from an inspection of flood-affected regions in Chitrakoot Dham, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath convened a high-level review meeting with senior officials on Sunday to direct comprehensive relief and rehabilitation operations. The Chief Minister instructed district authorities to conduct immediate assessments of crop loss and property damage to ensure all eligible citizens receive prompt compensation according to established rules.
During the review, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath mandated that families whose houses suffered complete destruction be integrated into the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana for new housing, while financial aid be released for partially damaged structures. The directive extended support to local traders, maths, and temples in Chitrakoot Dham, ordering administrative teams to assess their losses and commence necessary restoration work. Officials received strict timelines to complete the distribution of all remaining relief kits within 48 hours and maintain continuous medical monitoring in affected zones to prevent post-flood disease outbreaks.
Long-term preventative measures formed a key focus of the meeting. The Chief Minister issued directions to identify and clear all unauthorized encroachments in the catchment area of the Mandakini River, mandate a safety audit of the foot overbridge by the Public Works Department, and execute a multi-departmental plan to stop sewage and drain runoff from entering the river. Furthermore, officials were instructed to expedite road construction leading from Chitrakoot Dham to the local airport, setting a strict completion deadline ahead of Vijayadashami.
