Chandigarh, Dec. 2 — Punjab is set to experience a cold wave from December 2 to 5, the Meteorological Department said Monday, urging residents to take precautions.
A yellow alert has been issued for the entire state, including Ferozepur, Faridkot, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Fazilka, Bathinda, Moga, Jalandhar, Barnala, Sangrur, and Patiala districts. Dense fog is also expected in many areas, with temperatures likely to drop by 2 to 4 degrees.
“Pathankot and Bathinda are currently the coldest districts, with temperatures falling sharply,” a Meteorological Department official said. The department advised residents, especially children, the elderly, and pregnant women, to avoid prolonged exposure to the cold and wear warm clothing when going outdoors.
Authorities warned that the chilly conditions, combined with fog, could affect road visibility, and urged people to exercise caution while traveling.
