Compassion, Speed, Accountability Redefine Relief in Punjab

Chandigarh, October 26, 2025: In an unprecedented display of leadership, CM Mann took governance out of offices and into the flood-affected villages—standing shoulder-to-shoulder with farmers and labourers who had lost everything. His government’s response to the crisis has now become a national benchmark for relief, transparency, and accountability.

Under his direct supervision, a ₹74-crore compensation package, 2 lakh quintals of free wheat seed, and ₹20,000 per acre relief were swiftly disbursed to affected farmers. What makes this effort historic is its speed—within just 30 days, compensation reached farmers’ bank accounts, setting a record in administrative efficiency.

The Mann government’s relief policy extended beyond large landowners to farm labourers, small traders, and marginal farmers, ensuring no section of society was left behind. Farmers were even allowed to sell sand and silt from their fields without government permission until November 15, a practical step that helped many recover immediate income.

To ensure every rupee reached the right person, CM Mann personally monitored relief operations through social media updates and on-site visits, instilling both public trust and bureaucratic accountability.

Further measures, including raising SDRF compensation to ₹40,000, waiving loan instalments and interest for six months, and aid for livestock and house damage, reaffirmed Punjab’s commitment to holistic rehabilitation.

By combining speed with empathy, CM Bhagwant Mann has proven that real governance doesn’t wait for files to move—it moves with the people. Punjab’s relief model has become a shining example for the nation, demonstrating that leadership rooted in compassion can rebuild both land and lives.
