New Delhi, 11 December 2024: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge criticized Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, accusing him of bias and acting as a government spokesperson.

Kharge claimed that the Chairman’s behavior has hurt the dignity of the House and forced the opposition to move a no-confidence motion against him.

Addressing the media, Kharge alleged, “The Chairman often lectures senior opposition leaders, prevents them from speaking, and praises the government excessively.”

He likened Dhankhar’s conduct to that of a “school principal” and accused him of undermining parliamentary decorum.

The Congress President emphasized that the decision to seek the Chairman’s removal was not personal but stemmed from consistent frustration over his actions in the House.

“We had no choice but to issue this notice,” Kharge said, adding that the opposition is united in its demand for impartiality in the Rajya Sabha.
