New Delhi, 6 January 2025: Congress unveiled the ‘Pyaari Didi Scheme’ for Delhi, pledging ₹2,500 monthly financial aid to women if voted into power.
Announcing the initiative, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said the scheme mirrors Karnataka’s model of financial assistance for women. He expressed confidence in Congress forming the government in Delhi, ensuring immediate implementation of the scheme after their first cabinet meeting.
“This decision was taken today,” Shivakumar stated during the scheme’s launch, emphasizing Congress’s commitment to supporting women through similar welfare initiatives nationwide. The announcement coincides with the buildup to Delhi’s election campaign.
