Congress Slams ED Raids on Bhupesh Baghel-Linked Premises

Chhattisgarh, March 10 — The Congress on Monday accused the Centre of using the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to manipulate headlines after raids were conducted at locations linked to former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in connection with an alleged liquor scam.

The ED stated that the searches were part of an investigation into Baghel’s son’s alleged involvement in the case. However, Congress general secretary KC Venugopal dismissed the action as a diversionary move by the government.

“These are distractive tactics. Whenever Parliament is in session, crucial public issues need discussion, but the government tries to avoid them. They don’t want to address people’s concerns, so they resort to such tactics,” Venugopal said.

The raids come amid ongoing political tensions, with the Congress repeatedly accusing the government of using central agencies for political purposes.
