Congress Walks Out of Haryana Assembly Over Canal Issue

Chandigarh, March 10 — Opposition Congress MLAs walked out of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha on Monday, protesting what they called an unsatisfactory reply from the BJP-led government on the reconstruction of the Dadupur Nalvi canal.

During Question Hour, Congress MLA Nirmal Singh asked whether the Punjab and Haryana High Court had issued an order for the canal’s reconstruction and when the government planned to act.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mahipal Dhanda responded, “We have no information about such an order. If there is one, it should be provided to us.”

Led by former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Congress MLAs accused the government of being unprepared and demanded a clear stance on the canal’s reconstruction.

Speaker Harvinder Kalyan urged them to share any available information on the matter.

The BJP-led government, under Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, maintained that no such court order had been received. Dissatisfied, Congress members walked out, continuing their protest outside the House.
