Chandigarh, May 10: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday postponed the Pakistan Super League (PSL) indefinitely. Hours before this, it was announced that the T20 tournament has been moved to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to the ongoing military conflict with India. However, according to reports, the UAE refused to host, after which the decision to postpone the PSL had to be taken. Earlier, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also postponed the remaining matches of the IPL for a week.
PSL postponed indefinitely
The PCB said in a statement, ‘The decision to postpone has been taken as per the advice received from Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.’ However, it is learned that the Emirates Cricket Board refused to approve the PCB’s request to host the remaining matches of the PSL, as it has a cordial relationship with the BCCI.
There were eight matches left in the PSL
The PCB then decided to postpone the league, saying that it thanks its partners, franchises, participating players, broadcasters, sponsors and organisers for their efforts and support. There were only eight matches left in PSL 2025 and the final was to be played on May 18. The PCB had said on Friday that the last eight matches would now be played in the UAE. Earlier these matches were to be played in Rawalpindi, Multan and Lahore.
IPL postponed for a week
Earlier, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took a big decision on Friday amid the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan.
