LUDHIANA, MARCH 7: The Division of Student Welfare at CT University marked International Women’s Day 2026 by hosting a detailed panel discussion focused on moving beyond societal stereotypes to recognize the true independence of women. Titled “What Men Often Fail to Notice in Women: From Protecting Her to Respecting Her Personal Individuality,” the session brought together academic and medical experts to foster a culture of equality and empathy on campus.

Panelists focused on how traditional roles often overshadow the personal ambitions and capabilities of women. The discussion suggested that genuine empowerment is found when society prioritizes respecting a woman’s choices and voice rather than merely offering protection. Dr. Suman Sethi and emcee Jasnoor Dhawan led the conversation, sparking a dialogue that encouraged students to adopt a mindset of mutual respect in both their professional and personal lives.

“True empowerment begins with understanding a woman’s individuality and supporting her aspirations without any form of bias,” affirmed Pro Chancellor Dr. Manbir Singh. He maintained that such campus dialogues remain essential for encouraging young minds to challenge long-standing stereotypes and build a more inclusive environment.

Chancellor of CT University, Sd. Charanjit Singh Channi, also addressed the gathering, noting the vital role of educational institutions in fostering a progressive society. He declared that the contribution of women across all sectors must be recognized through the lens of dignity and equal opportunity.

The event saw active engagement from both faculty and students, who participated in a Q&A session with the speakers. The dialogue concluded with a collective call to create a space where women are celebrated for their authentic selves, moving past traditional notions of guardianship toward a framework of genuine appreciation and independence.
