Mumbai, April 10: Danish Pandor, who portrays Uzair Baloch in the blockbuster Dhurandhar franchise, addressed the growing collection of “Hamza and Uzair” fan edits during a recent social media interaction. Speaking with fans in a Reddit AMA session on Thursday, Pandor stated that he has found the creative and often romanticized interpretations of his character’s relationship with Ranveer Singh’s character to be highly entertaining.
The actor, previously seen in Sacred Games and Chhaava, noted that the popularity of the films has led to a surge in social media tags and messages from viewers. Pandor affirmed that he has seen many of the edits himself and laughed out loud at the various stories fans have shared with him. He declared that he is grateful for the love the audience has shown toward his performance and the franchise.
The chemistry between Uzair and Hamza, an Indian spy played by Ranveer Singh, has become a significant talking point among the films’ massive audience. Some viewers have jokingly maintained that the camaraderie between the two men surpasses other on-screen relationships in the series. Pandor stated that while the fan interpretations are “next level,” he is pleased that the films have sparked such active discussion.
Pandor also shared insights regarding his professional relationship with Singh, describing his co-star as a humble and selfless actor. He asserted that the two met during the narration of the film and developed a strong working bond. Pandor maintained that the role of Uzair Baloch challenged him to explore a darker and more intense side of his acting abilities.
The Dhurandhar films, directed by Aditya Dhar and produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, have achieved unprecedented commercial success. The franchise has collectively grossed over ₹2900 crore worldwide, with the second installment becoming the first Hindi film to earn ₹1000 crore net in India.
