Chandigarh, 28 October 2024 – Dengue fever cases are rapidly escalating in Haryana, with the state reporting over 67 new cases daily. The total number of confirmed dengue cases has now reached 3,354, following 673 new infections identified in the last ten days.
Despite government assurances, the outbreak shows no signs of abating. According to the latest health department bulletin, private hospitals have treated 2,468 patients, while government facilities have seen 886 cases.
Panchkula stands out as the most affected area, recording 1,133 cases. Other significant hotspots include Hisar (349), Karnal (241), Sonepat (219), Rewari (194), and Gurugram (151). In addition to dengue, 21 cases of chikungunya and 184 malaria cases have also been reported statewide.
On Sunday alone, 42 new dengue cases were documented. The ongoing rise in infections highlights the urgent need for effective public health interventions in the region.
