Diljit Dosanjh Leads Prayers for Rajvir Jawanda

MOHALI, Sept. 29 — The Punjabi music and film fraternity has rallied behind singer-actor Rajvir Jawanda, who is fighting for his life at Fortis Hospital in Mohali after a serious road accident left him with severe head and spinal injuries. Hospital officials said Jawanda, 33, is in an “extremely critical” condition on ventilator support and had also suffered a cardiac arrest before being admitted.

Leading the outpouring of prayers was superstar Diljit Dosanjh, who paid tribute to Jawanda’s character during a concert in Hong Kong. “Please keep him in your prayers. Prayers have great power,” Dosanjh told the audience, his voice breaking with emotion. “He should recover soon. He should return to us back on stage where he belongs. Rajveer Veera is an incredibly gifted singer.”

Dosanjh also praised Jawanda’s personal integrity. “He has remained free of controversies and earned admiration through his performances and humility,” he said. Posting on Instagram, Dosanjh wrote: “Praying for @rajvirjawandaofficial Veera. Just heard about the accident news.” His remarks quickly went viral on social media.

The 33-year-old singer, best known for his chartbuster Kali Jawande Di, hails from Pona village in Jagraon, Ludhiana. With 2.5 million Instagram followers and 935,000 YouTube subscribers, Jawanda commands a massive fan base. Just a day before the accident, he had shared a video promoting his latest song release.

Several Punjabi stars rushed to Fortis Hospital to show solidarity. Singers Kulwinder Billa and Kanwar Grewal visited him soon after news of the accident spread, while veterans Gurdas Mann and Babbu Mann issued heartfelt appeals for prayers. Actor-singer Ranjit Bawa and singer Surjit Bhullar also stopped by the hospital, calling on fans to keep faith in his recovery.

Actor and AAP leader Sonia Mann urged the public not to spread unverified news about Jawanda’s health, stressing the need for sensitivity.

On social media, fans across the world have flooded timelines with prayers and messages of support. “When you pray for someone with a true heart, those prayers are always answered,” Dosanjh said, echoing the sentiment of many admirers.

Jawanda, who has also acted in films such as Subedar Joginder Singh (2018), Jind Jaan (2019), and Mindo Taseeldarni (2019), has earned acclaim for hit tracks like Tu Dis Penda, Khush Reha Kar, Sardari, Surname, Afreen, Landlord, Down to Earth and Kangani.

As prayers pour in from fans and fellow artists alike, the Punjabi entertainment world waits anxiously for signs of recovery from the singer who has won hearts with his music and humility.
