MUMBAI, Oct 15 — Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has pledged to donate all his winnings from the popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) to support flood relief efforts in Punjab, he confirmed in response to a fan on social media. The episode, hosted by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, is set to air later this month.

The generous contribution comes in the wake of severe flooding across Punjab during the 2025 monsoon season, which displaced thousands and caused extensive damage to homes and livelihoods. Dosanjh’s donation will be directed toward local NGOs and grassroots organisations engaged in relief and rehabilitation across the state.

In addition, his Saanjh Foundation announced it will adopt 10 flood-affected villages in Gurdaspur and Amritsar districts, providing long-term support such as rebuilding efforts, medical aid, and essential supplies.

Known for his philanthropic efforts, Diljit previously donated Rs 1 crore in 2020 to provide winter clothing to farmers protesting against farm laws. His ongoing commitment to social causes has earned him widespread admiration.

While the exact KBC winnings have not been disclosed, reports suggest the amount is substantial. Beyond financial support, Dosanjh has also been using his platform to raise awareness and rally assistance from the Punjabi diaspora and wider public.

Several other public figures, including entrepreneur Raj Kundra, have also joined the ongoing flood relief initiatives, contributing to a collective effort to support affected communities.
