Telangana, 16 November 2024: A day after receiving a notice from the Telangana government, popular singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh posted a cryptic message on social media, seemingly responding to directives to avoid performing songs that promote alcohol, drugs, or violence at his upcoming concert in Hyderabad.

Dosanjh, who began the India leg of his Dil-Luminati Tour in Delhi last month, is scheduled to perform at the GMR Arena on Friday evening. In an Instagram post, he wrote, “Aandhi roke to hum toofan…Toofan roke to hum aag ka dariya. DIL-LUMINATI TOUR Year 24 (If the storm stops, we become the tempest; if the tempest stops, we become the river of fire).” The quote is inspired by Bajirao’s war cry from the film ‘Bajirao Mastani,’ starring Ranveer Singh.

The singer’s post included pictures from his visit to Hyderabad’s Taj Falaknuma Palace, where he listened to a group of musicians. He also shared images from a gurdwara visit, made in observance of Guru Purab.

On Thursday, the Telangana government issued a notice instructing Dosanjh to refrain from performing songs that promote alcohol, drugs, and violence during his Hyderabad show. The notice further prohibited the use of children on stage, citing concerns about the impact of loud music and flashing lights on young attendees.

The directive was issued by the District Welfare Officer of the Department of Welfare of Women and Children, Disabled, and Senior Citizens, Rangareddy, following a complaint from a Chandigarh resident. The complainant provided video evidence from Dosanjh’s previous performance at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, alleging that the singer had already performed songs glorifying alcohol, drugs, and violence.

As Dosanjh prepares for his Hyderabad concert, fans and followers are left speculating whether his cryptic post was a response to the government’s warning or a broader message of defiance as he continues his Dil-Luminati Tour.
