Chamoli, October 20: On the occasion of Diwali, the sacred Badrinath Dham in Chamoli was adorned with around 12 quintals of marigold flowers, turning the shrine of Lord Badri Vishal into a breathtaking sight. The Badri-Kedar Temple Committee carried out the elaborate floral decoration as part of the annual tradition ahead of the temple’s winter closure.
Special prayers were offered at the Mata Lakshmi temple within the complex, and as dusk fell, thousands of lamps illuminated the shrine, creating a spectacular display of devotion and festivity.
Temple officials said the number of devotees visiting the shrine has risen sharply, with over 6,000 pilgrims offering prayers daily. The temple doors are scheduled to close for the winter season on November 25.
