Chandigarh, October 20: Bringing festive cheer to sugarcane growers, Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini on Diwali announced a significant hike in the support price of sugarcane, raising the early variety rate to ₹415 per quintal and the late variety to ₹408.

The Chief Minister said the move recognises the hard work and dedication of farmers and aims to ensure prosperity in rural households. “This decision is a Diwali gift for our sugarcane farmers and a step toward strengthening the state’s agricultural economy,” Saini said.

He added that Haryana now leads the country in offering the highest support price for sugarcane. “We are committed to the welfare of our farmers. This increase will make their Diwali even brighter and sweeter,” the CM remarked.
