Drone Drug Link Busted in Tarn Taran, 3kg Heroin Seized

Mohali, April 16 – Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has seized over 3kg heroin, arms and ammunition from an alleged cross-border smuggler identified as Jobanjit Singh alias Joban, a resident of Kotli Sur Singh village in Tarn Taran.

The operation, based on specific intelligence, led to the recovery of 3.105kg heroin, two country-made .32 bore pistols, 37 live cartridges, two magazines and an electronic scale from the accused’s house, said Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav. He noted that Joban had a criminal background and was receiving heroin consignments via drones from Pakistan-based traffickers for several months.

ADGP ANTF Nilabh Kishore said Joban was arrested following inputs received by ANTF Border Range Amritsar. SP Gurpreet Singh added that a team led by DSP Ravisher Singh raided the accused’s home and made the recovery.

A case under Sections 21-C, 23, and 25 of the NDPS Act and Section 25 of the Arms Act has been registered at ANTF police station, Mohali. Further investigation is underway.
