Anandpur Sahib, November 25, 2025: A breathtaking drone show illuminated the night sky over Anandpur Sahib on Monday as Punjab marked the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur, drawing tens of thousands of devotees to the historic city.

More than 3,000 drones formed images narrating the life and sacrifice of the ninth Sikh Guru, transforming the skyline with symbols of devotion and resistance. Officials said the event was attended by over 50,000 people.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann opened the show, saying the tribute embodied a blend of faith and innovation. “Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji gave his life to defend religious freedom. We are taking his message to the world through modern technology,” he said.

The 15-minute sequence recreated scenes of Guru Tegh Bahadur meditating, his imprisonment in Delhi, and the Khanda rising like a beacon above the city. Sacred hymns accompanied the visuals as the crowd stood in silence.

Technical teams said the presentation required months of planning. They worked with Sikh scholars to ensure accuracy and respect for religious imagery. “Every frame was reviewed for its spiritual value,” a senior official said.

Videos of the show quickly circulated online, with hashtags trending nationally through the night. Religious leaders praised the initiative as a meaningful way to connect younger generations to Sikh history.

Sikh scholar Baba Harjinder Singh said the event would leave a lasting impression. “Devotion must reach every generation in a language they understand,” he said. “The Guru’s sacrifice is universal, and today it was felt again.”

Officials said the state plans to compile a digital archive of the visuals for schools and universities.
