Kutch, Gujarat, December 23, 2024: A 3.7 magnitude earthquake shook Kutch, Gujarat, on Monday morning at 10:44 am.
Fortunately, no casualties or significant damage have been reported so far.
This is the second earthquake of magnitude three or higher to strike the district in December, with a 3.2 magnitude tremor felt on December 7.
Earlier, in November, Kutch experienced a magnitude 4 earthquake on November 18, following a 4.2 magnitude quake in Patan on November 15.
Gujarat is known for its seismic activity, having witnessed nine major earthquakes over the past two centuries.
Notably, the 2001 Kutch earthquake, which occurred on January 26, remains one of India’s most devastating in the last 20 years.
