Patiala, May 25: “Every problem in life—big or small—can be overcome through hard work and higher education,” said Punjab Additional Director General of Police Amardeep Singh Rai, addressing students at a ceremony held by the Sheila Alipuria Charitable Society here today.

Dr. Gurpreet Sidhu- Renowned Cardiologist, Industrialist Naresh Gupta, Industrialist Divanshu Singla Madam Anuradha Alipuria, Sanjay Alipuria, Poonam Alipuria, Abhishek Gupta Alipuria, Dr. Ravi Bhushan, CA Gitesh and many other dignitaries participated in the session.

The event, led by society president Ajay Alipuria, honored children pursuing professional education, particularly Chartered Accountancy, through the organization’s fully funded scholarship program. Currently, 18 underprivileged students are enrolled in CA studies under the society’s initiative.

Speaking to the gathering, ADGP Rai encouraged students to pursue education not just for degrees but for shaping character. “The way a student carries themselves is a reflection of the education they receive,” he said. “If you continue to study and earn degrees with sincerity, you will eventually understand how education transforms a person into a better human being.”

Sharing insights from his own life and career, Rai advised students to adopt disciplined habits and reflective practices. “Write down what you study every day,” he told the young audience. “This simple habit is one of the most effective ways to succeed. I myself used to write extensively during my civil service preparation,” he said, adding that journaling positive learnings builds focus and clarity.

Rai cautioned students about falling into bad company, especially at a young age. “This is a vulnerable age. Stay away from distractions and negative influences. A wrong path can derail your future,” he warned.

He urged students to pursue difficult goals rather than settling for comfort. “Easy paths rarely lead to lasting joy. Chase the hard destination—your success will be worth the struggle,” he said. “Dedication and hard work can turn any dream into reality. And when your purpose is rooted in helping others, success becomes even more meaningful.”

Reflecting on his personal philosophy, Rai emphasized continual learning. “I still try to learn something new every day. Life is too short to stop growing,” he said. “Understanding the root cause of any problem leads to meaningful solutions. To succeed, one must overcome hesitation and make firm decisions.”

Sharing his own journey, Rai recounted how he initially prepared for IIT, but followed his own path into civil services. “I studied in Chandigarh, not Delhi. Your environment doesn’t limit you—your mindset does,” he said. “If students stay focused and set their own goals, no one can stop them from becoming IAS or IPS officers.”

He also urged students to use their education to uplift others. “Be proficient in your work. Once educated, teach and guide others. True success is in sharing what you learn.”

Atul Jain, Managing Director of Bajaj Housing Finance Limited, also addressed the gathering, urging students to temporarily give up distractions like excessive phone and internet use. “Consider them as modern diseases,” Jain said. “If you dedicate just five to six years to focused hard work after Class 12, your life will be transformed.”

Jain stressed the importance of reading, valuing elders’ guidance, and cultivating the habit of discernment. “Those who understand the good in life naturally leave the bad behind,” he said. “The future is competitive—your only true strength will be your capability.”

He added, “Knowledge is meant to be shared. As you grow, light up the world with what you’ve learned.”

Ajay Alipuria, who heads the Sheila Alipuria Charitable Society, said the organization’s core aim is to provide complete education to underprivileged children. “If even one person sponsors a child’s full education, it can change the future of entire generations,” he said.

Thanking both ADGP Rai and Atul Jain for their participation, Alipuria noted that many of the students now excelling in CA exams come from extremely disadvantaged backgrounds. “We are committed to taking these children to the highest levels through higher education,” he said.
